I guess that means their 4164 security fixes broke it. Sigh.
Same error here Merlin, in both Firefox and Chrome with Beta2; no problem on Beta1. Here is a screenshot of the console output:

I just updated to beta2 and I have ping netstat and traceroute and works no issues.
Interesting, maybe AC56R is unaffected?
Hello good, someone could explain how to get the security certificate to add it to the browser.
Are you using AsusWRT Merlin firmware? You need to setup your router to keep security certificate the same. You might want AsusWRT Merlin firmware, SSH enabled(Admistration -> System -> Enable SSH -> LAN only -> apply), a software that can connect you to your router through SSH such as Putty, and then follow this link to set your router. After that, set your PC according to this link for local computer. Let me know if you need help connecting through SSH.

Note: You can do the same thing using telnet in Asus Stock firmware.

been up for an hour and tried again and got zip so guess it does not work.tried all again and nothing.

The issue affects all functions that run a command on the router, then display the output in a box. Same on the Connection page, where netstat-nat is used to generate the list.

I haven't had time yet to analyze the root cause, but the only change there in Beta 2 was merging the 4164 httpd changes, so my guess is they're tied.

I followed all the steps but I am very new to these things, anyway thank you. By the way I use the merlin firmware, the first step I do well but the second step is windosw step I do not know.

Yup, with the beta2 install I'm seeing the issues others are reporting with 'Network Tools' functionality. As well as nothing being displayed on a 'Refresh' in 'System Log - Active Connections'.

I guess it goes without typing, but WOL from the webgui is buggered as well. Just to be sure it was not the machine I was attempting to wake, I logged into the router via ssh and ran the 'ether-wake <MAC address...>' command. Then the machine woke right up.

I will note that the 'Network Map|USB|Health Scanner' functionality DOES NOT seem to be affected by this latest issue. I.e., the 'Rescan' of my connected USB 2.0 thumb drive continues to work with a display report of 'ASUS: clean, 123/123392 files, 9470/493568 blocks'.

Router: RT-AC68U
Firmware: 380.64_beta2-ge6a4d93

My wireless log has shown duplicate hosts as a star. So one will say Chromecast and the rest are *. Could you please fix this? Thanks.

Ps. This bug has always been there.

I reverted the backported changes to httpd (such as the new brute-force protection mechanism and stricter referrer control), and only kept the XSS/CSS protection done at the HTTP headers level. I'd say that's good enough for now.

I don't know how you end up having three devices with the same MAC but different names (* usually mean there's no hostname at the DHCP level). I have Chromecast myself and never experienced this issue.

My bad, the mac suffix are different. But only one hostname shows

Clients will show * when there is already a host of the same name. Make sure you change the other clients names that are unique at each other.
IIRC, if you use very long names, it's either the first 14 or 15 characters (I don't remember which) which must be unique.

Do you mean that you already setup your router, and NVRAM? Are you using chrome? If you have setup your router, export certificate of your router WebUI(ex.192.168.1.1:8443) by following this link(sorry I forgot to mention this last time). Then use this link to import certificate to your PC. At 9th step, the file you choose is the exported certificate from your router WebUI

I put the official asus 4164 firmware on my AC68U and the tools page doesn't give output on any of the commands (ping, netstat etc). Connections page works.

My issues with the GUI in chrome are gone btw, no need to hit reload anymore, so that's a plus

There are two pages named "Tools"
- in first group, "tools" is really "system information" (rename it?)
- in second group, "tools" are really "network tools" (that's okay)

My Range Extender (D-LinkDAP-1620) shows up with different names:-
- on "System Log - Wireless Log" it shows literally as "<not found>"
- on "network map - clients - view list" it shows as "DAP-1620" (the name I assigned in DHCP reservation)

Why doesn't it use the DHCP name in both places, just like other devices, f.ex. Android devices or my Wireless Printer ?

Traffic Analyzer - Statistic ... odd behavior

When I navigate into Traffic Analyser-Statistic, it shows "by Daily" and "All Client". If I change to "by Weekly" or anything it changes to show "All Apps". After that, I can only select specific applications or "All Apps", but I can not get back to "All Clients" or any specific client.

This behavior changed a few releases ago, perhaps 380.59. Before, there was no "All Apps", only "All Clients " or specific client.

The wording is also very confusing.
"By Daily" shows traffic per hour during one day. Should say "on Date"
"By Weekly" shows traffic per hour during one week. Should say "on Week"

Is there a tool that can export the whole trffic database, and analyse usage patterns?

Beta Firmware check worked fine on FireFix for RedHat Linux.
I think it is nice to get notice, when there is a new Release. :)

But the beta-check seems a bit unnecessary, especially when I usually used SourceForge and get update in 1-2 minutes. Today the firmware check sent me to MediaFire, which took 14 minutes to download. I don't think I will use the beta-check again...
