Hi

I have done some research but I'm still unsure which product will tick all the boxes. I am after a NAS, either a single drive or two at the very most.

- Must have good support with Mac OSX
- Allow downloads via NZB independently (no workstation) (can you use a NZB search engine such as NZBMatrix?
- Work with Time Machine
- Stream video to my iPad/iPhone independently (no workstation)

Any help would really be appreciated as I'm quite literally overwhelmed at the current offerings.

Thanks, :D

I don't know of any NAS that supports this.

There are many products that satisfy the other requirements. Most popular are from Buffalo, QNAP, Synology, NETGEAR.

Hi Tim,

I think I found a third party package written for Synology which supports sabnzbd http://www.mertymade.com/syno/#sabnzbd - I think I should be able to connect to it via myNZB for iPhone etc

I'm just not sure which model to go for, it will be connected via a GBit network but I like to use my laptop wirelessly

If you are primarily using the NAS via a wireless connection, buy the cheapest model possible. Even N wireless will limit your speed to less than you'd get with a 100 Mbps Ethernet connection. All available NASes will support speeds better than that.

I thought as much, thanks Tim - I'm looking at Synology at the moment. What would your recommendation be for me?

Thanks,
