Hi,
I have seen threads before that this is not possible at the moment, and i also saw something about scripts to fix it. However i'm not very comfortable with scripts...
Will this be fixed anytime soon?

Why not possible? find out minecraft server(s) it connects to, and block them under Firewall/URL filter.

The issue is that the ips and addresses of the minecraft servers varies not to mention that there is single player. Really hard to stop it without L7 firewall which may be possible on the router but will tax CPU.

Minecraft's official port is '25565'. You could try and blocking all incoming/outgoing connections on that port (iptables). That would probably block >99% of all servers.

In Windows, you can prohibit running an executable by local security policy (MSKB 324036) or using Applocker
