I think this is the new chip that contains inside the new Linkstation. I haven't seen any other NAS using it yet, i suspect the recent announced WD MyBook NAS is using it, if you have seen others please post here.
The quoted performance for 1.6Ghz is around 76MB/s, which is much lower then expected given its 33% clock speed increase
Previous 1.2Ghz Kirkwood managed 75 +MB/s Read on Qnap. 33% performance
increase should roughly be 100MB/s Read, which is similar to what WD advertise.
The Marvell Armada 310 series also includes a 2Ghz version - 88F6282.
Hopefully these will get pushed out much quicker to combat the competition from Intel Atom NAS. So we could enjoy High Speed NAS with lower power.
