The Buffalo TeraStation 5610DN WSS runs on an Intel Celeron Quad-Core CPU platform with 4 GB of DDR3 memory and running Microsoft’s Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition for its operating system.

The WSS OS standard features include file and print services, centralized client backup and restore, server backup, remote access and more.

For storage, the 5610DN WSS uses an SSD for its OS and hard drives for storage. The NAS also gets hardware-based RAID, something new for Buffalo’s Windows server based products, that Buffalo says will improve performance and data security by adding support for RAID levels 6 and 10.

Available in two models, either the 12 TB WSH5610DN12S2 or the 24 TB the WSH5610DN24S2, the TeraStation 5610DN WSS’ list of additional features includes NovaBackup software, USB 3.0, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, hot swappable drives, DFS replication, deduplication and ISCSI support.

Available now, the Buffalo TeraStation 5610DN WSS has an MSRP of $3399.99 for the 12 TB model, and $3999.99 for the 24 TB model.
