New Around Here
I have two synology cs407 boxes and use each for various purposes and like them. I am in need of something cheap that I can put my own disk drive in and access files via http. I don't care about any other features, just the ability to download with a url. Don't even care if there is any permissions / user accounts, dlna, etc...

Any recomendations. I just want to avoid having to set up another full machine with an OS, and apache to make some files available for various download needs.

yea, I thought about services like that, but due to other reasons and integration with other systems, just a tiny nas web server would work out better. Was looking up info on TonidoPlug, it seems to do what I want.

based on some readings and testing, looks like I may just bite the bullet and build a small machine. Seems that the speed is considerably longer to download a file via the tonido and http.
