Can I use a Proxy for Downloadmaster on a N66U?

Hi, I am new to this forum and learning fast from it. I have a N66U router flashed with Asuswrt Merlin firmware. I have recently started using the Downloadmaster application to download torrents remotely. When I am not remote my torrent client is configured with a proxy server using SOCKS as provided by Private Internet Access. I am basically trying to get SOCKS working with Downloadmaster for when I am remote. Is there a way to do this?

I understand that I can use a VPN at the router level but I was wondering if the proxy could work just for Downloadmaster.

Anyone? If I was to install Native Transmission on the N66U, would it allow me to use a PROXY with SOCKS?
