Hello,

Is it possible that disabling some of the following Passthrough Setting's has an negative impact on my Network ?

Im trying to disable as much unnecessary stuff as possible with good results, so can disabling

RTSP Passthrough
H.323 Passthrough
SIP Passthrough
PPPoE-Relais aktivieren

do my Network any harm ?
In terms of performance ?

Thanks for reply !

hi

i dont think you have the right idea of what these do

they are enabled for a reason but being enabled is at no cost to the router performance so disabling them will not gain you any performance advantage and disabling them may cause devices and or apps not to work

what and why are you chasing performance wise and what asus router are you trying to get to perform better ?

I have the R7000 from Netgear and use Xvortex on it.

I don't find specific examples what this Settings really do, so is it possible to describe me their use in a short and understandable way ?:)

*as a side note, i think i don't use any VPN related stuff, just some dropbox, gaming, youtube, browsing and TeamViewer to connect from Work/mobile phone to my Home PC.

Thank you

just google what they do or dont do and again there is no detrimental effect in leaving them enabled so why bother with them , leave well enough alone and just enjoy the router
