Can you pair a ASUS RT-AX82U Merlin with RT-Ac67u in AiMesh? No success so far

Hello,

I have a ASUS RT-AX82U as my main router, which I place Merlin firmware on today. I also have a RT-Ac67u which I flashed with DSL-AC68U_386.9_0-gnuton1_NO-DSL-FIRMWARE.trx firmware. However, after successfully flashing the RT-AC67u did not have any mention of Merlin in the top header so I can't say for sure if it's Merlin.

Regardless, I would the the RT-Ac67u to be a node in a mesh with the RT-AX82U being the main router. However, when I can for nodes on the RT-AX82U it never finds the RT-Ac67u. Is it possible to pair these 2 routers in a wifi AiMesh?

It is pointless using 3rd party firmware on a node or access point.

Return the RT-AC67U to stock ASUS firmware and try again.

I have the setup AX82u router and AC67U WAP imesh nodes. Works fine but all on Asus firmware.
