Hello, first post... am not a power network user so sincerest apologies in advance for the ignorance... hopefully it's something simple, but in all honesty cocked up one setting, and it's locked me out of the router :/
The issue's with an RT86U w/ Merlin 386.13 loaded on a 2018 Macbook Pro. Never had a single issue with either Merlin or the RT86U... until a month ago.
History: laptop fried itself, Apple swapped it end of June. Prior to the failure could access the RT86U's login screen using my WiFi connection, updating firmware & signatures, etc. After the swap, despite setting it up (chg'g MAC addresses) it would bring up the login screen w/ a wired connection, but not WiFi (Chrome would not resolve router.asus.com, unless I was on a cable). Carried on as everything else worked fine... until 386.13's update came up. Logged in wired an hour ago and updated...
Here's where I made it worse: in trying to figure out which setting was causing these symptoms... I set local access from HTTP to HTTPS... logged out... and now I can't get the login screen on wired either.
Any advice for how to get back in and reset that setting (I'm just going to accept wired-only to update Merlin from here... unless that's an easy fix as well), please PM. I'll update on the solutions in the thread once all is sorted...
Thanks so much,
Jay
