Cannot use SSH

So I have version 384.13 installed and I cannot use ssh while connected to the (open)vpn server like I normally would when accessing the router away from home what could be causing this remote connection issue? It works with ipsec or pptp just fine though and I normally don't use those.

Hi,
This works OK (I mean SSH while connected to OpenVPN Server) on RT-87U with 384.13-0

What is your router model/firmware ?

I have no problems either on two AC88Us and one AC86U. I use most of the default settings. The default VPN server port is 1194. Do you also have an OpenVPN Client running using the same port?

Works well on AC68U and AC66U_B1 using a non-standard OpenVPN port.

No special stuff running or sharing ports only vpn server 1 is turned on. RT-AX88u while away from home and connected to the vpn server 1, I try to access the router via ssh client ( tried multiple clients). I cannot access it. No openvpn errors or anything, it is just like the device doesnt realize there is 192.168.1.1 at port 22.

These are my settings

I’m not
my Client specific otions are set to No.

My TLS Control Channel Security is left at the default Disable.

Compression is set to Disable (until recently it was Lz4

On the General Page, Client will use VPN to Access is set to Both

Did it ever work for you bia OpenVPN or have you just tried it for the first time. Like the others, I have no problem.

Do you have the second server set up? You should anyway in case you lock yourself out. Might be worth experimenting with and see if that makes a difference. Keep it simple ie default values to start with.
