Can't get full bandwidth on AC68u (Adaptive QOS)

New Around Here
I've been experimenting with adaptive qos as I've always had all traffic shaping turned off. When I try adaptive qos I cannot get full bandwidth using speedtest no matter which category I put at the top my upload is limited to .244 MB/s. This is unacceptable as I do some twitch streaming and need my full upload available for this. With qos turned off completely I get my full upload limit (which is about 3.8MB/s) while doing a speedtest. I've tried every category at the top, run speedtests and still the upload is limited. Is this a bug? Surely one of those categories should unlock the full bandwidth for upload right? What am I missing here?

***Edit: I do get full download bandwidth all the time.

for most ISPs upload speed is lower than download. Both speeds should already been mentioned and i've been saying too many times dont only look at your download speed for the router you need. Take your upload + download to give you the total throughput you need.

you need to set your adaptive qos internet speed to lower than your internet speed.

I don't think you understood my issue correctly. I know my upload is 30mbps and my download is 190mbps. When QOS is off I get full speed while doing a speedtest. When Adaptive QOS is enabled I get full download speeds, but my upload is limited to about 3.4 mbps no matter which category is set to the highest priority. So it seems that asus adaptive QOS is limiting my upload no matter what settings I change.

As far as I know that's the case with any router I played with. QoS itself is robbing router resources like
cpu time, etc. I notice 5% less speed. BTW, I don't use QoS in my home network.

QoS disables, CTF (Cut Through Forwarding). Especially at higher WAN speeds, you will see the effect (as you have). Since your router has Broadcom chipsets, this applies. Some links on SNB that discusses it below. There's also talk in the second link of a different firmware version that may help.. You will find most people don't bother with it.

If you are looking for true traffic shaping, you will need to move up to a mickotik pfsene or ubiquiti platform.

You should also try the buffer bloat test if you have not. http://www.dslreports.com/ (the test uses around 190meg).

@chucktheiceman: 3.4 out of 30 sounds like you mistyped the Upload speed on the QoS configuration page. Make sure you enter these as megabits, not megabytes or kilobits. Also ensure you didn't swap upload and download speeds (I saw one users do that once).

@netwrks: Adaptive QoS is compatible with CTF. I had no trouble hitting over 650 Mbps on a test with Adaptive QoS enabled in a bench test.

Traffic Shaping is coming in a future Asuswrt update, it's currently available in recent RT-AC87U and RT-AC3200 beta firmware.

Thank you I read MB/s, but it's actually Mb/s! Thank you for the help!!
