Cascading from a AC68U ...

Do the parental controls and AIProtection available on the AC68U with RMerlin's firmware work if you CASCADE through another router?

Would the Cascaded router also have the parental CONTROLS?

If you mean while in AP mode? No.

Is there a way to benefit from the parental controls in the AC68U or the AC87U either Cascading or using TWO of those routers to extend the coverage?

We have wired the area that is not covered with by WiFi of the main router but need to place the parental controls there also.

Any ideas?

Not in wireless AP, but wired cascaded router.

You shouldn't even need a router in that configuration.

A switch will do and then it will be controlled by the main router with all it's settings too.

We do need Wireless coverage in the extended area. That is what I'm confused about. :(

Thanks for the input.

In theory cascading routers should work provided that the clients are properly configured on the specific router they will always be connecting to.

No idea about AP mode in regard to Parental Control, you will have to test it.

RMerlin.. Yes, I would have to do some testing... This Parental question is for a friend that saw our new AC87U with this option in your Firmware and really liked it, his setup is a main wireless Router and then a Wireless Cascaded router at the kids rooms.

Thanks for all the help.:)
Regards.-
