The hardware hasn't changed since last year's announcement and still is built around an 802.11ac (aka Wi-Fi 5) 2x2 three radio tri-band design. It also has Amazon Alexa built in and can be used as a Bluetooth-paired speaker.
The main change is that instead of just working only with ASUS Lyra mesh routers, it now will mesh with any ASUS router supporting its AiMesh system.
