New Around Here
I'm slowly running out of space on the computer, and I've been thinking about getting myself a NAS to store my music and movies. I'm in university so cheap is important, I'd like to it be green so I don't have to spend too much money on powering it and it needs to hold 5-6 drives (I'm thinking of using WD 2 TB GP drives).
I've been looking around and I found this thread on hardforum and it suggests this setup:
$59 - AMD Athlon II X2 250 CPU
$55 - MSI 740GM-P25 AMD 740G mATX Motherboard
$50 - G.Skill F3-10600CL9D-4GBNS 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$50 - Cooler Master Elite 341 RC-341C-KKN1-GP mATX Tower Case
$27 - Lian-Li EX-23NA Silver 3in2 Internal HDD Kit w/80mm fan
$50 - Antec NEO ECO 400C 400W PSU
I'd just add 5 2 TB drives for a RAID5 and a random smaller HD (maybe SSD) for the OS.
My question is if this is a good setup or if it can be done better/cheaper.
Thanks!
