Hi,
my cable provider (based in Germany) ran out of ip4 addresses and began pushing towards ipv6 for new customers, like myself. With the net result of practically dropping all traditional VPN services at once (there're operating DS-Lite as opposed to full dual stack)
So I purchased the N65U unity for its 3G connectivity. I need VPN sometimes in case I had to reach my workplace.
Following the hotline the Cisco modem, which operates also as a router, runs now in router mode, acting as a DHCP-server for the whole network. The Asus is dumbed down and handles only wlan access as an AP.
This way I loose all the nifty features of the Asus, like 3G. Should I return the device or is there a better setup that doesn't affect those cool features?
(I'd like to use the asus as a usb-stick nas for our living room, too)
Cisco EPC3208G EuroDocsis 3.0 2-PORT Voice Gateway
