Clients incorrectly identified using RT-N66 in repeater mode

I am using an RT-AC68 as main router and RT-N66 in repeater mode to extend my network.

Both running 380.63_2

If I look at the Network Map on the RT-AC68 it looks like devices connected to the N66 are being incorrectly identified. For instance a PC that is connecting to the N66 says 3 clients are connecting to the AC68 through it. They are not of course they are connecting through the N66 which is listed elsewhere in the Network Map. If I click on the computer in the Network Map it says it has a static IP connection (it doesn't) and indentifies the device type as Philips Hue (I don't have any of these).

Other times it will show other devices (eg my iphone) as having devices connected to it and when I click on the iphone in Network Map it says device type is Roku (which is another client connecting to the N66).

Saw this with earlier versions of firmware as well - is this a known issue - or any ideas what is going on. It is making it hard to check the complete list of devices connected to my network.

This configuration is working pretty well to extend my network although I do seem to need to reboot the N66 occasionally

I have also been monitoring the the various new mesh routers Orbi (not really mesh I know), Amplifi HD but reluctant to give up the features of asuswrt-merlin

Edit I should add that N66 and all clients connecting wireless to the N66 are showing as wired connections in the AC68 Network Map. The connection between the AC68 to N66 is wireless repeater on 5GHz

ah its one of the issues with repeater mode as everything behind the repeater is striped with the mac address of the repeater , its the same reason you cant use individule access control rules for devices connected behind the repeater
