Connection reset when trying to access admin interface

New Around Here
Hi all

I have not been able to configure my Asus for the past few months. It is set up to allow https access on port 8443, but when I open that in my browser I just get a connection reset by peer error.

I am at the point where I am willing to do a factory reset, but would like to save the config if I can. I am able to SSL in to the router fine. Is there a way to reconfigure the web interface and/or save the config when logged on over SSL?

Thanks

Make sure you do try to login as https:// and not http://.

Yes, I am using https, that's not the problem.

Is there any way over SSL to save the config so if I factory reset I can reload the config?

It didn't get a lot of response, but I posted a utility to save/restore a lot of the 'user' nvram settings. My only concern with it is that I accidentally included something that really should be reset.

Maybe not a lot of response, but I certainly appreciated it.

What does this mean? Are you talking about saving/restoring something that really shouldn't be restored?
