Nice review (as usual) by Jim Buzbee. I was very curious how well the device performed after seeing the release announcement on Ctera's website.

I do have one question if Jim is listening...does the eSATA port support port multiplier? I would like use an external enclosure with multiple disks with this if possible...

Hi Boerner - Glad you enjoyed the review. I had a good time with this little box. As far as the multiplier, I couldn't find anything in the documentation one way or the other so I submitted a support request to ctera to ask. When I get a response, I'll post it.

Jim,

Thanks for taking the time to contact Ctera. When the device first launched I tried an online chat to ask some questions but after waiting 20 minutes I gave up. I guess they were just slammed with initial interest.

I did eventually get through to ask about future support for HFS+ drives and acting as a Time Machine target. They said they may come in the future. If they had those two features now I would have already pulled the trigger.

We'll be testing it and posting a "New In The Charts" article. It's basically a two-drive version of the ix4-200d.
