New version of my custom firmware build: 1.0.2.54HF/1.0.2.54HF-HW.

Changes (vs 1.0.2.47HF):

1. Integration of changes from the stock v. 1.0.2.52:
Security fixes:
Plus other changes including new versions of QCA drivers and TM QoS.
2. CVE-2017-15275 patch is added to samba.
3. Small improvements in samba config to increase the speed.
4. net-wall script is corrected to add possibility using own /root/firewall-start.sh script.
5. cron table potential problem is corrected (/etc/crontabs is now symlink to /tmp/etc/crontabs).
6. libsodium package is upgraded 1.0.15->1.0.16.
7. tar pckage is upgraded 1.29->1.30.
8. uci package is upgraded 2017-09-29->2018-01-01.
9. libubox package is upgraded 2017-10-06->2018-01-07.
10. e2fsprogs package is upgraded 1.43.7->1.43.8.
11. dnscrypt-resolvers.csv is updated.

[Update]:

New version of my custom firmware build: 1.0.3.7HF/1.0.3.7HF-HW.

Changes (vs 1.0.2.54HF):

1. Integration of changes from the stock v. 1.0.3.6.
2. Several bugs in the stock v. 1.0.3.6 are fixed (ReadyCLOUD link in WebGUI, aws-iot, etc.).

The link is:

https://www.voxel-firmware.com (thanks to vladlenas for his help with hosting).

Known problems:

AD band is not working (requires a time from me for fixing).

Important:
No reset is needed to upgrade from my previous versions. But: most probably you will need to do reset if upgrading from stock firmware 1.0.2.52 and above.

Difference 1.0.3.7HF-HW vs 1.0.3.7HF: “HW” version means hardware acceleration of OpenSSL.

Nice work Voxel, and so quick after an official release.

I am starting to think my ReadyCloud issue is a bug or it's completely on my end. I even reverted to stock firmware, registered a new account, and still the same issue - it shows I don't have any USB devices connected. I'll play with it some more later when I get home from work. I might just have to cycle the USB plug going into the router a few times.

When I first go the router I had no issues. I thought the issue might be setting it up via stock firmware then flashing Voxel-HW.

In any even I haven't tested a router with the flow speeds this beast has for LAN to LAN. I can't wait to plug in the 10-G port. I already have the SPF+ Transceivers and fiber cabling from work.

You know, according to my test I've corrected this problem reported by you. Since 1.0.2.47HF-HW:

6. ReadyCLOUD version is downgraded 20170711->20170214 (problem reported by tech960).

Maybe you have to reset your router. At least I did check with my R9000: I can see everything in my USB drive. It was not so before 1.0.2.47HF-HW:

In 1.0.2.46HF-HW thread:
You are right, latest ReadyCLOUD released by NETGEAR v. 20170711 and used in my build is problematic (bugs). Sometimes it reports "No USB Drive", sometimes it is working. I intend to release new version of my firmware anyway, and I'll revert to previous version of ReadyCLOUD 20170214 which is OK according to my tests.

Voxel, thank you for you hard work on this - your build is the only way I can stay connected - I get noting but dropping wifi with the stock build. looking forward to 1.0.3.7HF

You know, it is ready. But I found one issue (exists BTW in this 1.0.2.54HF[-HW] too)... Problems with AD Wi-FI: it fails to start. On the other hand it is almost useless currently: no devices with AD band...

So I am ready to publish 1.0.3.7HF but with not-working AD. I am afraid I need a lot of time to close this problem.

I am willing to live without AD - when do you think you will release 1.0.3? Want to try that new Smart Connect feature in hopes it will stay connected for more than a day!

One thing that is broken in Netgears firmware that works fine in Asus -

ICMP filtering. Netgear for some reason filters all icmp regardless of any setting in the router. Is there any way to turn this off. ICMP shouldn't be filtered in ipv6.

Done with this - will never buy or recommend a Netgear product again. Fire your so called software engineers.

Thanks Voxel - running it now, so far so good but give it time I am sure the router will drop it's wifi but lets see.

Yup, less than an hour and its drops......... I give up with NetGEAR.

It is interesting: of course I used this build 1.0.3.7HF-HW during week or so and I did not have any drops of Wi-Fi. Usually my notebook is connected to 5GHz. What is this screenshot? WebGUI of R9000?

Yes this is the WebGUI of R9000, I am running build 1.0.3.7HF - Voxel would I be better off running 1.0.3.7HF-HW?

Is this fixed in your firmware? I tested Netgear 1.0.3.6 and ICMP was filtered and not working on the ipv6 test. Then I installed your HF-HW firmware and still failed the ICMP test. Switched to your 1.0.3.7HF firmware (not HW) and ICMP works!

Goal of HF-FW is to speedup OpenSSL. If you do not use OpenVPN it does not matter for you. I use HW.

I'd say I did not correct this especially. In general I very dislike two last versions of official fw. Too many bugs and problems. I do correct what I found, but cannot say that everything is fixed: tonnes of codes...

Strange that not HW version is OK for you but accelerated is not. I'll try to trace this. Did you do reset for HW?
