Hi,

I was wondering if any one have any idea of the internal specifications on this device? For some reason it's not listed on any D-Link sites whatsoever?

The reason for me asking is because we've received this unit from our ISP and are using it as our main router / gateway and the wireless radius / range and overall quality of the wireless seems to be superior to the DIR-655 A3 and A4, even though it only got two antennas?

Does it have a better Wireless NIC or something? Which one?
Is there support a third antenna, might it be that the last antenna is internal?

We are considering replacing the antennas with 3x Linksys / Cisco HGA7S High Gain 7dBi antennas, so it's nice to know if we should purchase two or three antennas!

There is nothing on the D-Link site because it's a product made specifically for service providers (ISPs).

You can go to the FCC ID website, enter the FCC ID and download the internal photos and other documents.

The final photo is of a non-removable antenna. You should be able to identify the third (internal) antenna by tracing the pigtails. The radio side of the pigtail looks like the standard U.FL connector was used.

If you absolutely had to upgrade, you could run new pigtails to the antennas of your choice.
