Hi guys!

I just received a pristine looking second hand ax86u, bought on my country's "craigs list"-equivalent. The router looks brand new, and everything works, except the LAN 1 port. LAN 2-4 works just fine, but LAN 1 is dead....

Does anyone know if this can be fixed or not? Or is there something in the firmware that needs to be switched? Has anyone else experienced dead ports on Asus-routers?

It's running stock ASUS, latest update 3.0.0.4.388_24243

No way to tell !!!

You can check the port is clean of dirt/fluff etc
Check if any of the pins are bent and very carefully straighten them ... DO THIS WHEN THE ROUTER IS *NOT* PLUGGED INTO THE POWER SUPPLY !!!
Broken pins generally means it will not work ... unless the physical port is replaced.

NB:
If the router appears to work and you are able to test it out with the 3 remaining ports, you could simply plug an 'Ethernet switch' into one of the working ports and it would give you more working ports.

Just to rule something out, did your try various cables to check it’s actually the LAN port and not a cable issue (or what is on the other end of the cable …)
