[SOLVED]Device keeps disconnecting after upgrade

Hi there,

I just upgraded my Asus RT-N66U to the Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.35_4 firmware and am having am having a problem with one of my Android devices. It will connect just fine, but about every 15 minutes or so, it will disconnect and reconnect. It did not do this before I upgraded, and does not do it on other wireless networks. Any suggestions?

I saw something about disabling hardware acceleration but not sure where that is in the settings.

Thanks again and I appreciate your help!

Update 1/9: Factory reset seems to have fixed the disconnect problem. Thanks!

You should disable whatever wifi power management setting is on your Android device, and you should restore to factory default and set up your router again if you have problems after an upgrade.

It sounds like a power management related thing if you completely disconnect. I assume that while connected, you do have a strong signal, correct?

I know some Android phones don't play nice with some Wifi routers. Sometimes it can be improved by toggling the options available under the advanced settings on your phone (provided your manufacturer didn't remove them - I always stick to Nexus devices myself).

Power cycle your router. My Galaxy S4 would not connected to my AC68 with some firmwares unless i power cycled it after doing any changes in the router.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Also made sure any wifi power management is disabled on my phone. Yes, when I am connected, I am getting a strong signal. What happens is I will get a status that I was disconnected from wifi, then a few moments later, it will say I am connected again to the same network.

Ended up doing a factory reset, will see if that fixes the problem. Will post an update.

Update 1/9: Factory reset seems to have fixed the disconnect problem. Thanks!
