I just added an IP cam (connected to POE switch) which is conneced to an XT9 node. For some reason the cam does not show up on the WAN device list but is definitely working. Other cams were connected this way in the past without issue.
How to fix this?

Depends on what you are using to see the cameras, but it sounds like you are using the router which IGMP has to be working. Typically, you use the ip discovery tool that is made for your cameras like Hikvision's SADP for their cameras, but discovery software like that is only made to discover their products. NVR's built in discovery tool is might only compatible to that brand.

I pre-programmed the cameras before installing with a static address in the ip network which usually the camera input router of the NVR instead of through the network.

Asus network map is known to be wonky. It may show up in time and maybe not.
Per chance is the PoE switched managed?

Sounds like router bloatware. So much junk software they load into store bought routers.
The best software to use is the camera manufacturer's discovery tool that wouldn't care about router settings if that is the issue.
Most IP cameras use a static address instead of DHCP by default. Which you connect a laptop the POE switch, static assign the laptop to the camera's ip scheme and log into the camera and set it up.

I will try setting a static IP on it. Rebooting the mesh node did not help. Am using Annke (Hiki rebrand).

By the way I did use the SADP too. Set to DHCP and the IP address assigned I used for Blue Iris and the cam is definitely working. Just cannot see it listed on network devices in ASUS. So perplexing.

Netgear Managed
I have my PoE cams on a Netgear GS110TP managed switch. The only settings on the switch I changed were assigning a static IP to the switch and allowing external DHCP. I do not need a managed switch but this one was given to me and it was new in the original box! All my PoE devices show up on the Asus Network Map in time.
