DHCP Issue RT-AC68U

elproducto

New Around Here
I recently did the process to convert a T-MO AC-1900 to RT-AC68U leveraging the latest stable Merlin image . After the conversion I put the device in AP mode. I then connect it to my Cisco switch, however connected devices are not getting IP addresses.

The strange thing is the AP is reachable via web on Local network, AP also list all local network devices in Merlin GUI. In addition I can ping the main router from Merlin GUI. So not sure why devices connected to the AP would not be able to get IP addresses. I setup a static IP on my laptop and connected to AP, I was able to ping the AP, but not the main router.

Any recommendations on how to fix this issue?

dhcp is off for an AP .... is your AP IP address in the main router dhcp range? What device is your main router?

I tested both ways with AP IP address within and outside of the DHCP range. I got the same results. Main router is pFsense. Both ways router is still reachable from the LAN.

Update
Tested this on stock firmware 3.0.0.4.380.1031 & 3.0.0.4.376.3626 with the same results. Merlin and Asus firmwares seem they would fit my requirements if it wasn't for this issue.

I am now testing Advanced Tomato firmware and everything seems to be working. There was some VLAN functionality issues in latest .138 build but I downgraded firmware .137 verison and VLAN functionality issue is gone. This is a know issue by the forum member with a temporary fix available in .138 until next version.
