Differences postconf and conf.add

What is the difference beetween using for example minidlna.postconf and minidlna.conf.add? don't they both append lines to main config file?

Also if create a minidlna.postconf in which some lines are already present in main config file but with dfferent values, the values in postconf override those in main conf or not?

Thanks!

minidlna.conf.add was the old method that was simple to use - anything you put in it gets appended.

minidlna.postconf, the new method, is much more versatile, as it can let you add lines, but also modify existing lines (in case you want to actually change a line that already exists in the config file).

Make sure you read on how postconf scripts work however, as these are scripts, not just plain text files.
