Disabling TCP offload

Andris

New Around Here
Hi,

Is there a way to disable TCP offload on RT-AC68U with Merlin?
Whenever I do factory reset and copy like 10GB file to USB drive(attached to AC68U) it gets corrupted. I tried to capture part of traffic and Wireshark told that there are multiple packets with mismatched checksums and most common cause for that is TCP offload.

Hi,

I doubt that you have a TCP error which leads to corrupted files on a router attached thumb drive.
And: I have not heard about a router TCP offload issue in the forum since I joined 2013.

First of all: Do you see any syslog.log entries after you tried to copy the 10 GB file onto the router attached thumb drive?
How did you format the tumb drive? Not all USB file systems can hold a 10GB file...

No, nothing wrong in syslog. I have checked multiple drives. Also LAN->WAN ssh session also disconnects randomly when copying something like 10GB with error "incorrect mac received on packet". The only clear problem I can see is TCP checksum mismatch for like 5% of TCP packets. Maybe this is normal behavior for AC68U? It just are not ment for so big traffic?
