DLNA/SMB Server Hanging

I'm using Asus-Merlin 376.48_3 on an RT-N66U with a 1TB USB disk attached. I use the dlna server to stream MP4 to multiple devices across the house. I created SMB share to write new files from a Windows tablet. At times I am streaming an MP4 while still writing/downloading. This setup works great but occasionally I find the dlna, smb, and web GUI will hang which forces me to hard reset the router. In this hung state ip traffic is not affected. Has anyone else seen similar issue? I understand that I may be exceeding available memory, but I'm surprised that ip traffic continues if this is the case. So maybe this is just a problem with s network service daemon??? Any suggestions are appreciated.
