New Around Here
Hi - I am not sure if I'm just overcomplicating this setup (recent reset of router and jffs setup), but would like to ask about Diversion 5.0+ ad-blocking functionality.

For Diversion 4.0+, I read before in the link below that in order to use an upstream DNS server and still have the Diversion ad-blocking I need the following:
https://diversion.ch/faq-reader/how-to-use-an-upstream-dns-server-like-8-8-8-8-from-google.html
  1. LAN > DNS Director/ DNS Filtering turned ON with Global Redirection set to Global.
    • This will force clients to use Router IP as DNS for the ad-blocking

  2. WAN > Internet Connection > WAN DNS Setting set the upstream DNS that I want (in this case Google)

Now, my questions are:
  1. With the new ad-blocking method for Diversion 5.0+, do I still need to do these steps above?
  2. If no longer needed, please can you advise what changes I need to do to setup ad-blocking but still have the upstream DNS?
  3. Do I still need to force Client devices to use Router IP as DNS for the ad-blocking functionality?
