Do I need linux smooth wall or is rmerlin fw fire wall good enough?

Part of the Furniture
Hey I'm a noob for sure. I ask a basic question. Is the firewall on rmerlin f/w adequate if f/w is up to date of course? Should I deploy a external firewall like smoothwall using an old computer? I'm a home/micro business operator living in quiet residential neighborhood. Any info advice is appreciated. Right now my firewall is on on my AC68U and has not caused any problems. I also use aiprotection. Am I safe?

Edit: Does f/w firewall use statefull packet inspection?

It pretty much depends on how paranoid you are, and if you do other activities on your network which may compromise you. For the basic home user, that just does strictly browsing and streaming the built in firewall is fine.

Does anyone know if the firmware firewall uses spi?

SPI=Statefull Packet Inspection.

Thank you this issue is now solved.
