Do we have Bandwidth limiter in Merlin

w11x22

Occasional Visitor
I have RTN66U and tried Shibby from 108 up to the latest one but I lose speed with shabby no matter what built I use. So I flash shabby (with NVram clear) and Wireless disabled and connect my Laptop with LAN and test with speedtest.net (fresh install) and lose 3 to 4 MB/sec...I have a 15 MB connection and I get 11 to 12 MB/sec but when I do the same with Merlin built I get full 15 MB result. I am willing to lose all the cool features that Shibby has but I do need Bandwidth Limiter and my question is do Merlin has Bandwidth limiter or not? When I flashed my Router with Merlin I forgot to check this and now I am running Shibby (latest)...
Please advise and thanks all in advance for the reply
Thx

No, there's no bandwidth limiter.

Is there any chance this has changed since you answered this post?

It's been part of Asus's base firmware for many months now.

I have an open incident with ASUS from this past week. They determined that the fixes they put into the firmware for the bandwidth limiter had somehow not gotten carried forward into the latest release. My tests with them confirmed that it isn't working. So they said they could back level my router or I could wait for a new version with the proper fixes in it.

I was only asking about the merlin software as an option in case your bandwidth limiter actually works.

Asus broke it in 7266, but it was working in the previous versions, on which 380.65 is based.

So.....I've never used another firmware like this. Can I load it and run it for a while and decide to easily go back to the Asus firmare if I need to?
