Hello all,
I'm in the middle of the great NAS decision and I'm wondering if there is a point where the number of files in a media library (say, more than 50,000) would rule out the entry level NAS devices with slower processors and less RAM.
I watch my poor old underpowered G4 Mac Mini spin its beach ball all the time while it's reading my iTunes database and I don't want my NAS to suffer the same fate while running the media server.
I have $400 to spend and the price difference between the product lines of most manufacturers are priced where I could swing the 2 bay entry model or the 1 bay step up model. For instance, the QNAP TS-210 (800MHz CPU 256MB RAM) versus the TS-119 (1.2GHz 512MB RAM).
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
