DS 214 Play vs DS 214 +

First I hope I've got this question in the right place and am not duplicating. I am trying to decide between the DS214 Play or the DS214 +. Other then the CPU (Intel Atom Dual Core 1.6 or Marvel Armada XP Dual 1.3) there does not seem to be a whole lot of difference. The Play does have a couple external card slots the Plus does not have which is not a big deal for me. So the question... what makes these two different. I presume they both can be set up with Web pages made available to the outside world, some kind of email client, backing up files, etc. The Plus does cost a little less then the Play. Anyone have an explanation regarding any major difference? Thanks for any info.

I think the Plus has a bit of cost in transcoding capability - if not needed, this might influence.

email client: I don't think most NASes have that. Synology and probably QNAP have an optional email server - but I'd not want to go into that swamp!
