I guess they can limit any their products SATA speed without any announcement ... if they want ...
in DS1815+ PDF SPEC is "SATA v2 x 8" ,but they "limit DS1815+ internal SiI3132 port to 1.5Gbps", 1.5Gbps is SATA v1!
we use SSD x 8 on DS1815+

4.use DSM ui create all as single disk and copy file from slot 1 to slot 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ,will see very differen speed in slot 7-8
5.create any RAID5/6/10 as two group 1-4 and 5-8, and group 5-8 speed is always slower then 1-4.
we don't want use patch,because when you update DSM the patch will invalid,Synology not show any info about buy DS1815+ need use patch to open SATA v2 speed.
we've already tested patch,is not helpful for slot 7-8 speed.
we've already contacted synology support before we to raise a legal plaintto sue.
Is this behavior illegal in your country ?
