New Around Here
I picked one of these up, and it's been great so far. As it is pretty new, anyone have thoughts they'd like to share?

Curious what others think...

Mine is a DS212, essentially the same. USB3 and DSM 4.0. I've held off on DSM4.1 due to users claiming there are USB3 speed issues.

Sweet. SNB just put up a review of the DS413. Nothing to be blown away about but seems to be OK for the most part. I have this running in a very small business setting & it's performing great so far (1Gb LAN, 4x1TB WD-REDs in RAID10). Turned off the hibernate bs, since I'm not a fan, but I'm really enjoying DSM so far. It hasn't caused any issues for us, and I hope it's as stable as it has been for some time to come.

Assuming this is DSM 4.1 not 4.0... have you tried a USB3 drive? Works fine for me w/DSM 4.0. Some users on the forum say that in 4.1 the USB3 driver is not right.. runs at USB 1 or 2 speeds. I use NTFS on the ext. drive (for big file sizes) and the write speeds are OK for 4.0. I haven't gotten a user-answer on Syn's user forum.

Ya, I have DSM 4.1 on there. I haven't tried USB3. I'm sadly just backing it up to a DAS in RAID5 via USB2 . It's rough but if I let it go overnight once a week, it's not that bad. And since USB2 is slow as piss, I'll be checking out how a backup via USB3 goes in the near future & report back.
