New Around Here
Update: I was trying out the TP-Link Emulators for the ER604W and ER6120, and there is this note in the Load Balance/Policy Routing page: "Policy Routing" cannot be applied to L2TP/PPTP VPN and the secondary connection of dual-access.
So I take that to mean that even if I define a policy of all traffic destined to IPort X:Y that it would NOT go through any PPTP client connection already set up. Does this sound right? If so, any dual wan routers that would support this setup?
Good day,
This is my first post - hopefully it is in about the right place. This is my setup: I have two ADSL connections from different providers, and would like to optimize my throughput but also have a StrongVPN PPTP connection set up for certain applications - Netflix, Spotify, etc (I am no in the states obviously).
I have seen the reviews of the Peplink Balance 20 and TP-Link TL-ER6020 and read the manual for the TP-LINK TL-ER604W (which looks quite interesting given the price).
I have seen that you can configure a PPTP client connection over a certain WAN port, and you can set up routing so that certain destination IPorts go to a specific WAN port. But it is not clear to me that these routed packets will be going through the PPTP connection that is 'on top' of the WAN port, or not.
So, can somebody tell me if the packets will properly go via the StrongVPN PPTP connection in this setup?
Thank you,
Tyler
