I'm having and issue using dual-wan on RT-N66 with two registered cable modems for load balancing. Problem is there's no way to set a different MAC addresses on the Ethernet ports from the wan, so the modem tries to assign the same IP on both modems, thus only the first modem up will get the IP.

@Merlin can you implement a way that we can change edit the MAC for the Ethernet ports in stead of using the one MAC for all wan and lan entire device? I know there's an option to edit clone a MAC but if we could have a field just for the Ethernet ports, then I could use dual-wan in this scenario.

I don't deal with the Dual WAN code.

well this sucks, i'll have to ask asus now, and they probably won't do anything.

I'm also having the same or similiar issue. I have two Cable modems and have the Asus Merlin set to use WAN and Ethernet port 1 for failover, but its telling me in the Syslog that there is a duplication MAC address.

Dec 31 18:00:32 kernel: vlan3: Setting MAC address to bc ee 7b XX XX XX.
Dec 31 18:00:32 kernel: VLAN (vlan3): Underlying device (eth0) has same MAC, not checking promiscious mode.

Any ideas why this would be happening? I have tried both failover and load balancing?
