DynDNS behind a double nat

Hello guys,
I am currently stuck in a double NAT situation.
My ISP is Bell in Canada and even though their router had PPPoE delegation and pass through it resets when I reach full load on my connection (50 mbits up and down) so in order to avoid disconnects I am stuck with bell router on 192.168.2.1 and then my asus ac66u on 192.168.1.1.

(btw Bell refuses to help because they say that without PPPoE pass through there is no disconnects so my router is at fault and they do not provide support for foreign equipment)

I can deal with the situation just fine because I still can use DMZ, the problem I am having is dyndns, since my asus router sees 192.168.2.10 as its external IP and not the real WAN IP.

Is there a way to make it see the real external IP and correctly update my dnsomatic account?

This is exactly what I was thinking when I answered your post in the other thread. You will probably be stuck using their modem as they authorize service via mac ID. SO you can't take their Router/modem out of the loop. I have seen and have fixed this problem with Bell in the US. You can't have 2 ROUTERS in the same system doing the routing. It will cause serious conflicts. I would ask them How to turn their switch into only a modem and use your switch to handle the routing and wireless duties.

The setup up is as follows:
ONT (optical network terminal) -> Bell Router -> LAN port 1 - Asus AC66U
LAN port 2 or coax for my pvr

I asked them about using my asus router to do PPPoE, I was told to remove my user id and password from their router and put it in PPPoE section in mine.

I did that, it disabled internet apps and VOD on my pvr (Im OK with that) and my router got an external IP.

The problem is when I start torrenting or even simply downloading a game from steam bell's router stops working and resets itself bringing everything down.

From speaking to the techs at Bell I understand that I cant remove or change anything in fimware to make their router just a dumb modem because it is used for IPTV. So I am stuck with having to figure out how to use dyndns from within a double nat, or figuring out how to fully remove their router by myself.

I was just looking at Bell.ca's site trying to see the manuals for their connection hub and PVR's. Needless to say they don't have much in the way of manuals about the advanced settings! LOL I dont imagine you can totally replace their modem.I am pretty sure their is a way to turn off NAT on that connection hub. I am pretty sure the reason you get video for 10 seconds is their(Bell's system) see the mac addy of your modem and then denies service saying..woops that is a foreign modem. They would either have to auth your mac addy of your router or maybe you can change/spoof the mac ID of the asus to fool their syste. To be honest though it would be much better just to turn off NAT on the connection hub. If you don't anytime you have problems they will blame you and your modem.

Edit,: Not to mention technically the Asus is not a modem and is not set up to handle those duties.

It is impossible to remove disable NAT, believe me I tried.
There is no option for that. The interface from their router is made to be idiot proof (ie nothing that can screw it up is accessible)

But your idea of MAC address spoofing is intriguing. I'll try an see if it helps.
Though I think the problem is more in the domain of IGMP snooping is not working as it should and some of the broadcasts don't get forwarded to LAN port 4.

^^ This. They have a way to get into advanced settings ;) They just will not tell you how to! LOL BTW I am not a network engineer nor do I have any formal network qualifications. SO take what I say with a grain of salt. However, I install CCTV's and DVR's, and also Access Control systems, which many times need to be accessed from anywhere in the world via wan. So I have spoken with and troubleshoot problems with AT&T employees, Cox Cable, and sometimes the customer's(Big Customers) think AT&T corporate, Government organisations, Corporations with locations across the US (Fed ex, UPS ) "IT Professionals". Of course at first most of the time it is our equipment fault, or out lowly (In their mind ignorant) tech's fault that the customer can't access their video or data across the WAN(Internet). Many times even though it is not "OUR JOB" technically we are left to our own and have to figure it out for the customer's sake. Sometimes it helps to escalate to level 2 or 3 support for COx or ATT. Sorry for the long post. Just trying to bounce some idea's around and give you some background on what I deal with on a day to day basis. Don't give up and keep plugging away and you will eventually get to that right person(I.E> Someone who knows what the hell they are doing) at BELL to assist you. LOL

Ok, put the bell router into bridge mode and then connect asus using ppoe credentials and you are set
