Email traffic stats

Animal

New Around Here
I'm currently using an old non Asus Router flashed with DD-WRT and am looking at changing to an Asus and will flash it with Merlin as soon as I get it this weekend.

I notice a feature that I'll gain is saving traffic stats to disk (USB or JFFS partition). I know I can write a script to email me from the router but is there a way or a script that I can attach/email me this traffic log once a month ?

It would be even nicer if I could email just traffic info from specific devices on the router but not sure if that's possible.

REALLY looking forward to getting my Asus this weekend :)

Thanks in advance.

The data file saved to the USB is not in a human-readable format. It is only intended to be used by the router for storing historic information.

Thanks for the reply.

So is there anyway (even with writing a unique script) to email a traffic log to me without having to log onto the router itself to view ?

I don't think so. There's a Perl script that somebody wrote that extracts the daily and monthly totals for the router as a whole. That's about it.

What specific information are you looking for?
