RT-AC87U running Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.6117.
On the 5 Ghz only my DELL Laptop is connected in AC mode.
I have been a bit disappointed in performance which is previously in the 10-20 MB/s range in a file transfer to my NAS.
Yesterday I enabled the Xbox friendly setting and now performance is between 20-40 MB/s!
As stated in other threads the Xbox friendly setting removes some error handling. As I'm in the countryside I guess it doesn't matter so much.
What are your oppinions on this? By the way the NAS can easily handle 100 MB/s...

When a collision is detected a packet is resent so error handling isnt an issue in a crowded wifi network but if there is interference from a non wifi device like microwaves and even radar for example they can cause errors in receiving wifi in which case error correction may be faster than without.

It is also unlikely you will see more than 50% of the stated wifi bandwidth practically unless you are stress testing to the point where full CPU is used and packets are being dropped.
