Encore ENLWI-N compatible with Linksys WRT160N?

I recently got a ENLWI-N PCI Adapter and am experiencing difficulties when I connect to my WRT160N Linksys Router. The signal strength doesn't drop below 99%, but yet I experience mind-numbingly slow download speeds (throughput?). However, when I connect it to my CG814GCMR Netgear Gateway the signal strength is between 55%-65%, yet download speeds are considerably higher than the Linksys. I've looked through configurations for the Linksys and found nothing of relevance to this issue. Could they be incompatible?
