Examining the default config files and scripts

New Around Here
I'm trying to figure out how the routing part of my ASUS router with Merlin actually works. Where can I find the default scripts and config files that are run when the router starts? I'm interested in things like setting up the internal VLAN's, getting an IP from my ISP's DHCP server etc.

There are no config files and no scripts to examine or manipulate. As an embedded device, the router relies on nvram settings, and every thing else is handled by the binary rc daemon. Daemon config files are dynamically generated by that rc daemon.
