external ip's to internal devices

New Around Here
Hello,

I current have the defualt firmware loaded on my rt-n66u but from my understanding it does not support transferring external IP's ( block 8 with 5 usable) to devices internally

Does this version of the firmware support this feature. Ultimately I'd like to be able to have some devices with external ip and some with internal IP.

I have never attempted to load any special firmware on a router before so I'm very new to this. I did a search but honestly I want sure if I had found the answer.

TIA

Why not just connect a switch before the router and connect the devices that should have an external address to the switch?

I'd rather not have to purchase another switch to add in front of the router as i'm not sure all the current or future devices will have the pppoe software/settings to handle the authentication I would need. On top of this I'm not sure my ISP Modem which I killed the routing on allows more then 1 port active. Yes I could change routing from the modem to the switch to the router but that is a lot of devices to cause issues.

If it's my only option which doesn't make sense to me since I know other routers have had this ability. If it's a resource issue i can comprehend that and understand it. if it's a just didn't do it then that is a downfall in my opinion
