I have an Amazon FireTV device that shows up within the router having an ip address of 192.168.101.168. The problem is that the network ip's are 192.168.123.xxx. This device has an ip assigned using the correct subnet but for some reason is ignoring it. It works, I just don't like the wierd address on my network. FWIW, I have never used 192.168.101.xxx ever.

Merlin Firmware Version:386.3_2

IIRC, that's network is assigned to 2.4GHz guests on the AiMesh network.

P.S. For "normal" (non AiMesh) operations, it's best to only use guest networks #2 and #3. Those guests will use the same IP network as the private network.

Just reread this and checked out the device and network.

I don't have active AIMesh, as I only have one node.

The device is logged into the stock 2.4 network (5.0 was not staying connected).

By stock, I mean one of the standard netwroks for the router, not one of the guest networks.

It is connected to the 2.4 network.

I can't imagine how any device using the default 2.4GHz or 5GHz APs could suddenly be bound to one of the guest networks (I know 192.168.101.x and 192.168.102.x are being used by AiMesh for guest networks, so I assume that's the source).

I assume when you say "This device has an ip assigned using the correct subnet but for some reason is ignoring it", you mean you assigned it a static lease within the private network.

Log into the router w/ ssh and post the output from the following commands.

Code:
ifconfig
brctl show

Well I can see you have guest #1 and #2 at least active. Disable guest #1 and see if things change. That should remove the 192.168.101.x and 192.168.102.x networks from the config, making them unassignable to clients.

That solved it, thanks and for the information about Pastebin

Yeah, I figured. Ever since the introduction of AiMesh, ASUS has managed to make a mess of guest networks. That's why I said, AVOID guest #1 at all costs. You'll be a much happier camper.
