Some feedback if it helps anyone in the future
I have a 4 story home, about 1500 square feet per level. 300 Mbps up / 20 down
Only one Ethernet run, from my utility closet (where cable modem is located) to a second floor office.
Existing setup before orbi was an Asus RT55u in the utility room, Ethernet backhaul to an access point Asus RT66u in the second floor. Second floor router started to flake out after 6 years. Both modem and 2 AP/router on a UPS.
Installed orbi router on second floor (modem in basement to orbi via Ethernet). Satellite hidden in a closet on main floor, both central locations
Now seeing 250-300Mbps everywhere in the house. All four floors. Some minor issues so far to ensure the device picks the 5ghz band. Previous was max 100mbps and many weak spots at the edges.
