Flashing Merlin Firmware preferred method?

Rednroll

New Around Here
I've been lurking on this forum and have been considering flashing my RT-N66U router with the Merlin firmware. However, the 1st step is actually flashing the firmware to my router and I haven't really seen any recommended or for that matter non recommended methods.

I've done some research and some say to install a flash utility program and do it that way. Typically, when updating the router's firmware, I just launch my browser (Firefox) and just update through the web interface. So would using the web interface utility method be ok flashing Merlin as well? Are there any browsers that don't seem to work as well? Is there a recommended program that works best? I'ld just like to go with a known recommended method, since there are a lot of you folks with much more experience who have obviously done this a few times. :D

Thanks for any suggestions.

Flashing instructions are included in the README.

Basically, flash like any regular upgrade using the webui. Once done, do a factory default reset, and reconfigure your settings.
