Hi everyone..
I'm using a Synology DS 1512 NAS with Diskstation DSM 4.3
I have my Mac and my PC both connected to the NAS...
I made a folder on the NAS via my mac called 'Joe & Filippa Music" but when I view the same folder from my PC it's named ' JHBHNA~W'
Why is this happening?
I am accessing my NAS via Windows 'RUN' and I type in the NAS IP \\192.168.0.4:5000
Sometimes the NAS appears in windows explorer under Network as 'DS1512' and sometimes it doesn't which is why I sometimes access it using its IP..
If I access the 'Joe & Fillippa Music' folder via a web browser logged into the NAS then the folder names are all good across both Mac and Windows Web Browsers..
Just to confirm, my DS1512 should work properly across both Mac and Windows and files and folders should be interchangeable between these platforms right??
I have windows file system and Mac file system both enabled in the DS Settings..
