New Around Here
Hello.
On a lark I bought a Dlink DAP-1513 for $20 at Amazon. It's a dual band wireless repeater. Spec wise, from what I can find, it seems decent. Dlink Americas has no useful support information, what they have is wrong. Word is the unit is actually a re-badged Cameo, model unknown.
There's a big fly in the ointment. You are allowed ONE shot at seeing all of the configuration pages when you first set it up. After that it doesn't matter what password you try for the Admin account, you are told it's wrong.
You can push the reset button on the back for 10 seconds and when it finishes booting you can use WPS or manual methods to connect to your router. So, it will work but probably no where near optimal if all the configuration options are being hidden.
I want to force flash the unit with a newer firmware I found on Dlink Russia. It's been a long time since I did such a thing. Do I use ftp/tftp?
Or, does anyone have any ideas how to get into this thing and see all the options available?
