Just checked my N66U and its set to off it must be befault because i never touched it.

For 'US' routers it will default to off. If 'EU' it will change to 802.11d+h

The code tries to walk the line between staying regulation compliant (right up to the limits) in it's default state, while still allowing someone who really wants to go outside the limits to do so by manually adjusting some of the nvram settings.

Wow! That's a really quick reply,John. I ended up switching over to 376.49_5 and all is well. I just don't really understand the Kindle connect issue and certainly hope that I'm the only one.
The Beta Utility you put together saves so much time, if you need to switch back and forth on firmware settings.
I'm thinking that there might just be some sort of glitch in my specific environment.

Working fine here. VPN speeds are over 40Mbps. I forget what it was before. Haven't used it in a while. When I use VPN, my VOIP does not work. It there some way to fix that?

Most of those VOIP boxes work by setting up there own VPN-like connection, so don't work if being routed through another VPN. The way around that is to exclude the ip of the VOIP box from using the VPN. If you do a search on 'Selective Routing' in this forum you'll find some script templates on how to set that up.

Would it be ok to use a network switch. Connect the modem to switch, one cable to Obi and one to router?.

Upgraded my RT-N66 today to V7 of the fork and everything working great!

Have a Kindle and having no problems with the new release.

It's my first time trying your firmware fork and was observing the Microsoft OneDrive hosting is slower than I'm accustomed to, reaching no more than 500-600 Kbps. I would also like to help others download the files faster.

Excellent job, John. Version 7 rock solid so far. Not sure if it is just fork update placebo effect but I notice it seems to reconnect faster when I wake my computers.

Yes, Comcrap and I have seen the same IPv6 delays previously on reboot, but this time I updated my two routers and suspect the main N66 already pulled the IPv6 address before I tested since the AC66 was updating thereafter for ~3min.

Not sure what changed in your last update, but my webpages now load much faster, even when youtube is being hammered at peak hours.

Saw an instant change right after flashing with v7 firmware.

Same here. Link speed is the same as before but pages definitely load faster. Most noticeable on pages with loads of images or graphic/video elements.
I always thought the slowness before was just Firefox being bogged down and laggy as it tends to be from time to time. No noticeable page load speed difference between all previous firmware versions.
Noticeable improvement now on both ipv4 and ipv6 sites.
Weird. Nice...but weird.

Local LAN file copying speeds don't seem to be affected compared to previous versions.

I have also been using a changed administrator name for at least a year with both Merlin and now the fork with no IPV6 issues.

I enabled the Comcast DSCP fix in both the beta and official release - hard to tell if it made a difference - maybe pages are loading a little quicker but hard to tell.

The 7 release does seem stable and works well for me and continues to give me better WiFi range the latest Merlin releases.

If you did that, then your modem would also have to act as a DHCP server to give a separate address to the Obi and the router. (I think most modems can do this or be set to do this). Then your other other clients connected to the router and the router would be in the Double-NAT connection. I don't have any experience with double-NAT setups, but I think it would end up complicating your life more than you want For example, I think the OpenVPN clients have trouble dealing with double-NAT, so you may just end up changing one problem for another.

If anyone else has more experience here....please chime in....
