New Around Here
I am considering purchasing one of these routers. they seem to be similar in features and price. does anyone have any experience with either of these routers? any recommendations on which would be the better router to choose?
wan to lan throughput is important to me as well as wireless performance and coverage. stability in general is also high on my list. or if there is another router in that price range with similar/same feature set I'm welcome to suggestions

thanks

I've been using the USG50 for about two years now and I'm really happy. It's one of the few networking items I've ever owned that's made me more satisfied the longer I've had it. I have a small home based business that involves uploading and downloading videos, a dual wan, as well as a couple of netflix users so it's being used all day long.

If I ever have any network issues I rest assured that the zyxel isn't the reason why. Having said all that, it took me a while to get used to the object based interface. Now that I have the hang of it I like it. I'm happy to have groups assigned to one wan or the other. I love having a group that gets disabled after my daughter's bedtime (no facebook on the iPad), etc. It's been perfect for me.

Oh yeah, I also deal with security attacks on a daily basis because I'm fairly high profile in the online world. (Fun fact, one of my hackers is about to go to prison) The zyxel has been good for that too.

Go with Zyxel USG, you won't be disappointed.

The FVS318N is terrible, I've replaced at least 3 in the field from being dead, and even the working ones all seem to suffer from a strange DNS bug whereby DNS is un-responsive when lots of queries are going through, which leads to random "unable to visit this website" in the browser.
